Religious Studies
The Bethany College Religious Studies program trains its focus on the Bible. Biblical texts are studied in terms of their original context, their various interpretations over thousands of years, and their meaning in today’s cultural dynamic. The program takes a unique approach in looking at the Bible through a number of different academic perspectives, from psychology to physical sciences to critical literary methods.
Requirements
Undergraduate: GPA of 2.0 (4.0 scale) or better on all prior school work, SAT/ACT scores (transfer students with at least 24 college semester units may be exempt), high school diploma or the equivalent, at least 23 years of age, completion of all application materials, and sympathy with the college's doctrinal statement.

Bethany College
Originally founded (1919) as a training school for Glad Tidings temple of San Francisco, Bethany College has evolved into the official leadership preparation school of the Assemblies of God, Northern California and Nevada District. The school, which now sits on the hills of the Santa Cruz mountains, became a 4-year degree-granting program in 1955. Its External Degree Program was launched in 1992 and provides students of the Distance Learning community the opportunity to immense themselves in spiritual, academic, and professional development.
