Hotel and Restaurant Management
University of Houston’s Hotel and Restaurant Management degree programs enlighten students of the intricacies of the service industry. Courses include Food and Beverage Service, Safety, Sanitation, Security, Lectures on Hotel/Motel Management, Bar and Beverage, Wine and Spirits, Alcoholic Beverage Laws and Regulations. Foreign culture courses include: French Culture and Tourism, French Wine Production and Distribution, Japanese Lodging Industry, Japanese Culture and Tourism.

Management Degrees
Established in 1927, The University of Houston implemented distance education in 1980 via two off-campus institutes. Continuing the evolution in 1984, they added live closed-circuit televised classes. Distance Education courses are offered to four off-campus sites, thirteen community colleges, via television (cable, PBS), videotape, and live teleconferencing. The DE programs offer eighty-five courses and enrolled over 7,000 students.
