Gerontolgy

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College’s Gerontology program is dedicated to providing the highest quality education possible to students interested in careers in various fields, such as community service, government agencies, and religious organizations. The subject of Gerontology is explored from many different angles, in an interdisciplinary approach. Central topics of the curriculum are the physical, mental, and societal aspects of aging, and society’s role in caring for the elderly. The program strives to touch on all areas of gerontology, preparing graduates to make a difference in today’s world.

Requirements

Undergraduate: high school diploma/GED, academic history/work experience considered. Education majors must reside within 200 miles of campus. Graduate: bachelor's degree. Certificate: English Composition required if not previously taken.

Certificate Program at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College

Saint Mary of the Woods College was established in 1840. Their contemporary curriculum can be obtained traditionally or through the Women’s External Degree Program (WEB est.1973). The WEB implicates five-month programs structured for flexible independent study, offering more then twenty-five majors. Saint Mary of the Woods is accredited by The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
