The Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) degree with a concentration in literacy, developed by Pearson Achievement Solutions in cooperation with Dominican University, offers you an exciting opportunity for professional growth. With an optional specialization in elementary or middle/secondary literacy, this graduate education program equips you with in-depth knowledge of literacy development. Supported by 19 credit hours of reading-intensive courses, the degree meets the national standards of the International Reading Association.

The M.S.Ed. program also offers some of the most effective tools in quality distance learning. It received the 2004 Distance Learning Award from the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA). And with the ability to complete the degree in as little as 18 months, you not only can receive an excellent graduate education in your own home, you can do it at a pace that suits your career goals.

The program takes full advantage of a user-friendly, distance learning format. LessonLab's proprietary software platform, VisibilityTM, gives you a window to other teacher's classrooms through its cutting edge video component. Your learning will be reinforced by a dynamic combination of peer interaction, best-practice strategy videos, and active applications in a problem-based learning framework, including collaborating on an action research project focused on reading.
