Sociology
The Department of Sociology at Laurentian University offers a number of study programs, including Master of Arts in Applied Social Research, Master of Arts in Human Development, and a Certificate in Family Life Studies and Human Sexuality. The pre-requisite to most of these programs is the university’s 3-year Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree (or equivalent), which provides a broad foundation in the study of sociology’s many aspects, preparing the student to delve deeper into his/her preferred area of expertise.

Laurentian University (1960) launched its distance education program, Envision, in 1972. The largest bilingual distance education programs provides complete degree programs, including 11 in English, and five in French.
